Chateau les Arromans

Chateau les Arromans is a multi-generational estate that has gone through many different stages, but for our purposes we will start their story in 1998 when Joel Duffeau’s father, Jean retired and left the 30 hectare estate to his two sons; Joel and Eric.

The two brothers each inherited 14.5 hectares and started their own seperate labels, but the vinification for both estates occurs at Les Arromans. Joel - proprietor of Chateau les Arromans decided to organically farm his vineyards to make terrior driven wines with personality and exceptional value. There are two wines in production: Bordeaux Blanc from his Entre-deux-Mers vineyards, and Bordeaux Rouge from his AOC Bordeaux vineyards which lie on the border of St. Emillion.

Chateau les Arromans Blanc

Grapes: 50% Semillon 50% Sauvignon Blanc

Vine Age: 20 years

Soil: Clay and limestone slopes

Vinification: 50% skin contact, stabilized cold & temperate controlled fermentation.

Tasting Notes:  A traditional white wine from the Entre-Deux-Mers AOC of Bordeaux. Made of 50% Sauvignon Blanc and 50% Semillion, it has classic Sauvignon Blanc notes of lemon peel and earthiness on the nose.

Chateau les Arromans Rouge

Grapes: 75% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc

Vine Age: 35 years

Soil: Coteaux argilo - calcaires

Vinification: Aged and fermented in stainless steel

Tasting Notes: Harmoniously blended to create a deep ruby colored wine. The nose offers up aromas of strawberry, raspberry, and blackcurrant from the Moulon Merlot and licorice, green peppers and spice from the Cabernet Franc. With its aromatic finesse and velvety tannins this wine is sure to be a favorite. Pairs well with strong cheeses, pastas with red sauces, beef.
