Mas du Colombel Faugères

Summary

For more than 5 generations, the Chabbert family has been passionate about viticulture and wine. Today, Eric, Cyril and Cathy are at the head of the estate. They are passionate and deeply attached to their region and vineyards, and they continuously strive to improve the quality of their wines.

Faugères is a relatively new appellation, founded in 1982, as a break-away from the much larger Coteaux de Languedoc when the unique quality of its wines was realized. Schist soils are largely the reason for the outstanding quality of the wines. The reds are mostly GSMs. The 39 parcels of the castle are scattered in the Mediterranean scrubland, on schistose hillsides or plots in contour lines. Small production and hand-crafting is the way the norm at Mas du Coliombel, and they largely seen as a rising-star of the area.
