Notes
VINEYARD: The gravel-soil vineyard lies a fair distance from the center of Gols (where the winery is located), and is officially named "Fürstliches Prädium" (roughly translated to "Forest Manor" or "Forest Estate"), but locals have called it “Korea” since the 1950s; and to hear tell up to and including present-day, no one knows or can remember why. As Judith comments, “When we rented the vineyard in 2016 we decided to use this nickname for the wine from this site.” Judith has postulated that due to the lengthy travel time to reach this vineyard “back in the day”, it may have felt to locals as if they were traveling to another part of the world.

VINIFICATION: The biodynamically-farmed fruit is handpicked all at once in late August, given 3-4 days of maceration, then pressed and naturally fermented in old barrels, with aging of about 6 months on the lees. As is normal with the wines made by Judith Beck, intervention is at a minimum, resulting in a wine which is as true to the claim of ‘natural’ as any found elsewhere.
