Troncone Rosso

VARIETAL
Sangiovese

NOTES
VINEYARD: A selection from the two youngest vineyards: Le Ragnaie Lago and Fonte. Montalcino has an altitude limit in Brunello, and not allowed to grow above 600m. This organically-farmed sangiovese is grown from 620-655m altitude, hence falling into the declassification of IGT Chianti Colli Senesi. In 2014, the wine was too pale and wasn't even approved for the Colli Senesi classification, so Riccardo Campinoti labeled the wine IGT Toscana Rosso.

FARMING: Organic

VINIFICATION: Native yeast fermentation in concrete vats. Aged 12 months in 25 and 100hl Slavonian oak barrels.
