NOTES
VINEYARD: Two organically-farmed vineyards: Dean's Vineyard located in the high hills above The Dalles, OR, and Moody Bridges Vineyard located at the confluence of the Deschuttes and Columbia River, just outside The Dalles. Dean's Vineyard lies among rolling cherry orchards and golden wheatfields, a warm and windswept site central to the region's agricultural identity. Though only a quick drive from Underwood, WA, it feels like another place entirely. Just a few miles away lies Moody Bridges Vineyard, planted from cuttings taken directly from Dean's vines. Positioned where the Deschures and Columbia Rivers meet, the site is shaped by two fierce wind systems - glacial air pouring out of the Cascades and ocean-driven currents racing through the Gorge.
FARMING: Organic, Regenerative Organic, Sustainable
VINIFICATION: Fermented with wild yeasts, 25-30% whole cluster, and gentle daily pigéage, twice at the height of fermentation. Co-fermented with 11% viognier. Nothing but a whisper of sulfur after malolactic fermentation. 22 months on lees in a combination of neutral puncheon and barrique. Bottled by hand, unfined and unfiltered
