Notes
VINEYARD: Grapes are sourced from multiple vineyards planted between 1930 - 1950. All the vineyards are composed of hillside, dry- farmed bush-vines, and soils are primarily comprised of decomposed granite with a mix of clay and quartz.
VINIFICATION: The winemaking is simple and employs native yeast, concrete globes, old barrels, no corrections, with minimal or no sulfur prior to bottling. Eighteen-day ferment in concrete and old barrel. Eight months elevage in a combination of concrete spheres and old barrels.
Itata Valley’s viticulture is primarily practiced through horse plowing and hand farming.
