Alma4

Summary

During the mid-1990s, Agustín Lopez, Mauricio Castro, Marcela Manini and Sebastián Zuccardi met at the Licéo Agrícola & Enológico School in Mendoza, Argentina when they were all still teenagers. Their fast friendship was the genesis for the creation of Alma 4 while still at university. At first, they made small volumes of wine as a hobby with no commercial ambitions, but now, two decades later they are still making wine together and currently producing 5 sparkling cuvées from high elevation parcels in the Uco Valley: La Carrera, San Pablo, Los Árboles, La Consulta and Vista Flores. The growing conditions in these sites provide an environment of cool temperatures, continental climate, and significant diurnal shift. Factors, all of which, combine for long, even ripening as sugar accumulation slows down overnight allowing the vines to rest, and allowing the grapes to maintain higher levels of acidity. Ideal for sparkling wine.
